The week
Collaboration, real work and Sapporo.
Projects & collaboration
Real problems, local contacts.
We'll offer a mix of scoped local challenge briefs and participant-proposed projects relevant to Hokkaido. Where possible, visiting engineers are matched with local teams or challenges before arrival, based on skills, interests and availability.
Every project should have a local contact who can explain the problem and provide feedback.
The focus is learning, experimentation and demonstrable prototypes. Any continued implementation is discussed separately after the event. Ownership and sharing expectations are agreed within each project team before work begins.

A week that fits real work
How scheduling works.
- Your application includes your timezone, normal working hours and any fixed commitments. You can apply even if your schedule isn't known yet.
- Before the event, our AI scheduling assistant contacts accepted participants who opted in to reconfirm dates, timezone and current commitments. Accepted participants also get a private link to update their availability.
- Organizers use this to place core collaboration sessions, skillshares, protected work blocks and optional activities.
- You review the proposed schedule before it's finalized. Nothing is added to or changed in your own calendar.
Protected work time means your normal job and existing commitments — not only event project work. We'll aim to protect your commitments and find useful shared time. Some sessions will have fixed times; we'll discuss conflicts before confirming your place.
Local collaboration stays central: core sessions are where teams meet, so please plan to join the ones agreed with the cohort.
Good to know
Dinners, workshops and language.
- Dinner is included every evening, November 23–27 — an easy way to connect, not another workshop.
- Workshops are kept short, value focused, and practical.
- Optional food, café and neighborhood experiences fill some open time. Tours and excursions are optional.
- Main working language: English, with Japanese-language support planned for local business sessions and demos. Specific arrangements to be confirmed.
- All times JST (UTC+9).
